Heany Park Primary School's Reptile Atrium Project was officially launched on Wednesday, 15th of November, 2006 at 11.30am. After a celebratory morning tea for all those involved, the State Minister for Ferntree Gully, Anne Eckstein, officially declared the Atrium open!
State Member for Aston, Chris Pearce was also in attendance. Teachers, parents and special guests were blown away by the effort made by those involved to get the project up and running. The lizards were on show as special visitors came to see the atrium completed as well as the operation of the newly installed web cam. Speeches were made by the Year 6 ICT captains.
Rhys and Adrian, as they explained how the web site and web cam operate, while the Year 6 Science captains Naomi and Callum spoke about how the lizards in the atrium are cared for.
All those involved - the staff, students and reptiles wish to thank all the helpers and special guests that were involved in making the Heany Park Primary School Reptile Opening a huge success!
